The Lawrenceville City Council met in a work session on March 4, 2026, and tabled two rezoning applications while forwarding multiple planning and utilities items to the council genda on March 19.
City Manager Chuck Warbington asked that RZM2025-00023 (Curt Thompson; 464 West Pike Street) and RZC2025-00074 (Zaidh Cuellar; 303 Scenic Highway) be tabled to the April 1 work session and the April 27 regular meeting. Council Member Victoria Jones moved to table the two items; Council Member Bryant Harris seconded. The minutes record the vote in favor by Mayor David Still, Council Member Victoria Jones, Council Member Randy Travis and Council Member Bryant Harris. The minutes also list Mayor Pro-Tem Bruce Johnson as absent earlier in the record but show him in the voting roll for a later adjournment motion; the attendance discrepancy is noted in the meeting record.
Todd Hargrave, director of Planning and Development, presented several land-use items and recommended they be placed on the March 19 regular meeting agenda. That included a special use permit (SUP2026-0001) for Gerald and Fred Enterprises, LLC at 350 West Pike Street and BFR2025-00005 for 335 West Pike Street; both were scheduled for the March 19 agenda.
Todd Hardigree, Natural Gas Director, presented a recommended contract award for the Sugarloaf Parkway and Old Snellville Highway Gas Infrastructure Project (SB012-26) and a request to purchase gas pipe and materials for HI Hope at Hwy 316. Hardigree said both items will appear on the March 19 consent agenda as Consent Items #1 and #2.
Brian Osborne, Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Director, presented an annual contract renewal for landscape and maintenance services (RP003-24) and recommended it be placed on the March 19 consent agenda as Consent Item #3.
City Clerk Karen Pierce, joined by Corey Andrade and Michael Tashakkori of Granicus, presented the Granicus agenda and video management software and answered council questions; staff recommended placing the matter on the March 19 regular agenda.
Keith Lee, chief financial officer, presented an ordinance amendment to remove the public hearing requirement for natural gas margin rate adjustments; staff recommended sending that ordinance amendment to the March 19 regular agenda for consideration.
