LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — At its Feb. 23 meeting the Mayor and Council approved multiple procurement actions, including a sidewalk construction contract and an on-demand electric services agreement, and passed the consent agenda containing several infrastructure items.
City Engineer Eranildo Lustosa Alves Junior presented the West Pike Street Sidewalk Infill Project. Council voted 5-0 to award the contract to Hasbun Construction LLC, the second-lowest responsive and responsible bidder, for an amount not to exceed $500,152.73. The motion authorized the mayor or city manager to execute the contract subject to City Attorney review.
Chief Financial Officer Keith Lee presented an annual on-demand contract for underground electric distribution cable installation (SB017-26). Council approved awarding the contract to E & A Adventures at an estimated annual amount of $520,764.00, with four one-year renewal options; staff will prepare the final contract for City Attorney review and City Clerk processing before execution. The approval vote was unanimous.
The council also approved a consent agenda that included: raised intersection work for Crogan Street at Perry Street and Clayton Street at Pike Street; construction inspection and testing services for the raised intersections; a contract award for the Longleaf Greenfield Reconduct Project (SB011-26); and the 2026 Event Entertainment Consultant Contract. Specific dollar amounts for those consent items were not specified in the minutes.
Keith Lee introduced Kenneth Morris as the city’s new purchasing director earlier in the meeting. The council adjourned following signature of the meeting minutes.
What happens next: contract documents will be finalized by staff and reviewed by the City Attorney before execution; the sidewalk and on-demand service contracts will enter procurement execution and project schedules as outlined by staff.
