Lawrenceville council confirms co-counsel appointments, holds executive session on personnel, legal and real estate

The Lawrenceville City Council unanimously confirmed two co-counsel appointments and held a closed executive session during its Feb. 11 work session.
Mayor David R. Still moved to confirm the appointment of Lee Thompson, of Pereira, Kirby, Kinsinger, & Nguyen, LLP, and Frank Hartley, of Baggett & Hartley, LLC, to serve as co-counsel as City Attorney effective Feb. 14, 2026. Council Member Victoria Jones seconded the motion; the transcript records the mayor and all council members present voting "Yea."
Later in the meeting Council Member Randy Travis moved, and Council Member Victoria Jones seconded, to move into an executive session to discuss personnel, litigation and real estate. The council later exited the executive session on a motion by Mayor Pro-Tem Bruce Johnson, seconded by Council Member Jones. After returning to open session the council reported that the closed session had covered four real estate matters, one personnel matter and three legal matters, and that no votes were taken in the executive session.
The meeting adjourned after the executive session; the minutes were signed by Mayor David R. Still and City Clerk Karen Pierce.
