The Altoona City Council on June 16 approved Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) contracts with Opus Design Build and Elder Corp. for Phase 4 improvements at the Sam Wise Youth Complex.
John Dostart, city engineer, said the firms will serve as CMARs and develop the bid packages for the next phase of site and facility work. "This contract with Opus Design Build and Elder Corp. is for the next phase of improvements to the Sam Wise Youth Complex," Dostart told the council.
Councilmembers voted by roll call and approved the contracts (vote recorded 4-0). The council did not discuss detailed scope or final contract amounts in the minutes other than confirming the selection and contracting approach.
