CTE director outlines expansion of health science programs and internships

Career and Technical Education Director Dan Tedor told the board Feb. 25 that Lake Stevens' CTE program is focused on giving students real-world skills and experiences, with a particular emphasis on expanding Health Science pathways and strengthening internship opportunities.
"Internships give students hands-on experience and a glimpse into professional environments, helping them connect what they learn in school to future careers," Tedor said in his presentation. He described the district's outlook for CTE as "exciting," and emphasized the program's role in offering diverse pathways that support students beyond the classroom.
Tedor summarized recent accomplishments and framed CTE as a complement to core academics, positioning practical skill development and workplace experiences as increasingly important to prepare students for both higher education and employment. The board thanked Tedor for the presentation during subsequent remarks.
