At the Feb. 16, 2026, regular meeting held at Eastside Connections School, staff from Eastside Connections presented a summary of the school's recent growth and program developments to the board. The presentation was led by Joe Racht with program highlights from Mary Kane, student-support details from Courtney Kesler and extracurricular updates from Shanna Lamberton.
Mary Kane provided an overview of departmental programming and highlighted recent student successes and milestones. Courtney Kesler described the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) at the school and explained how student incentive programs have affected school culture. Shanna Lamberton reported on the expansion of extracurricular offerings, saying those activities have been broadened over recent years to better meet student needs.
Brooke Brawley followed with an informational item about New Course Proposals reviewed by the Student Achievement Committee; she noted the approved slate would be available beginning in 2026–2027 pending sufficient student interest and enrollment. The board later voted to approve those course proposals during the meeting.
The presentation offered the board a summary of operational developments that informed board decisions on curriculum and scheduling later in the meeting. No citizen comments were recorded during the public-comment period.
