The Bernards Township Zoning Board of Adjustment completed its reorganization and regular meeting on Jan. 7, adopting 2026 rules and appointing professional staff for the year.
During the opening reorganization, members nominated and approved a chair, vice chair and vice chair pro tem and adopted resolutions to name the board engineer, traffic engineer, planner, board attorney and board secretary. The board also adopted its rules and regulations, designated official newspapers for legal notice and set meeting dates for 2026.
The board moved through a consent agenda of routine approvals, unanimously adopting multiple previously circulated resolutions and granting a set of minor variances and administrative approvals for previously noticed properties. Board members recorded their assent during roll call; no extended debate was recorded on the consent items.
The actions preserve continuity of board operations for the year and put standing assignments (engineer, planner, attorney, secretary) in place so pending and future applications can proceed through technical review and permit stages.
The board closed the reorganization portion and then proceeded to hearings on new and continuing applications, including a completeness determination for a Mount Airy application and two substantive public hearings.
