Millville commission approves slate of routine resolutions, grants and contracts

Actions approved included: the bill list; a non-fair-and-open contract for municipal engineer (John Noope); appointment of Deandre Heath as an alternate zoning-board member; renewal of the municipal court Spanish-language interpreter contract; licensing ROC Towing as an approved towing operator; a resolution authorizing tax and utility adjustments; a contract to Edmonds GovTech Inc. for financial-software hosting and support; participation in a New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety 'Safe and Secure Communities' grant (about $65,000, described by staff as not requiring matching funds and intended to replenish officer salaries tied to grant requirements); authorization of an additional $27,742 to complete fire-truck repairs; and an interlocal services agreement with the county office of aging for Meals on Wheels.
Commissioners moved, seconded and approved each item by roll call; the transcript shows unanimous recorded "yes" votes on each listed resolution. For several items staff briefly described the program or contract purpose, for example noting Edmonds GovTech provides payroll and finance-software hosting and that the fire tower is back in service after repairs.
The meeting closed after commissioners reiterated a focus on public-safety initiatives and a phased High Street camera project.
