Supervisors approve $502,663 in claims, a Veterans Affairs settlement and several consent items

Finance staff reported total claims for the meeting of $502,663.05, noting a $8,157.92 payment from a restricted fund for benchmark software and a $111,793.40 payment to rural libraries. Payroll for the period was reported as approximately $1,700,000.
The board approved a resolution authorizing payment of expenditures and directed the auditor to issue payments accordingly. The supervisors also approved a proposed settlement recommended by the Veterans Affairs Commission for claim number 6295 in the amount of $12,176.60 and authorized the board chair to sign the settlement agreement.
Separately, the board approved adding a full-time replacement position in the treasurer’s office as recommended by County Treasurer Linda Henson and approved minutes from prior meetings.
