Peter Rodriguez, who identified himself as the general manager of Caption by Hyatt, told the Chattanooga Beer Board on March 5 that the hotel is a new-construction, full-service Hyatt-branded property on Main Street and described it as supportive of Southside growth.
"It is the first Hyatt branded hotel in Chattanooga, and it's the first full service hotel on Main Street," Rodriguez said, pitching the project as a contribution to neighborhood development. Regulatory staff told the board that all permanent-permit requirements for beer 1393 at 105 West Main Street had been met and approved by regulatory.
Why it matters: Approval of on-site beer service for a major hotel can affect downtown hospitality offerings, employment, and late-night activity patterns.
What the board did: Board members asked no follow-up questions and did not take further action beyond noting that regulatory staff had approved the application; the applicant representative said they were ready to proceed.
The board moved on to other agenda items without a separate formal vote at the dais; staff indicated the regulatory approval stands unless further issues are reported.
