Ventnor commission approves consent agenda including Ski Beach grant request, fireworks contract and parking-meter suspension

The Ventnor City Commission voted unanimously on Nov. 13 to adopt a multi-item consent agenda that included funding requests, contracts and administrative authorizations.
Key items approved included a request for grant funding to support Ski Beach improvements (boat ramp, dock and erosion-prevention measures); a not-to-exceed $30,000 contract with the fireworks vendor Zambelli for a July 3 display (with a weather postponement date); and a roughly $24,750 contract for portable toilets for special events. The commission also approved multiple residential tax-abatement agreements, authorized signatures for an iBank sanitary-sewer and roadway restoration grant, and authorized a Code Red emergency-notification contract for four years.
The commission discussed Resolution 3038, which provides free metered parking citywide until April 30, 2026, with staff and commissioners noting that permit zones (for North Beach) would still require existing permits. Commissioners debated whether a permanent ordinance should adopt specific seasonal meter dates and agreed to refine the proposal for a January introduction. A work change-order closeout for Ventnor Avenue signalization reporting a roughly $100,000 decrease was described as a positive closeout outcome.
The consent agenda was moved and seconded and carried on a roll-call vote with Commissioners Lance Landgraf and Maria Mento and Mayor Bridal voting yes.
