Council hears plan to renew Brownfield partnership to support redevelopment at 24 W. Main St.

Councilmember Marie Gress, who also serves on the Milan Brownfield Authority, outlined an ongoing partnership with the Washtenaw County Brownfield Authority and said the county authority could assist with large redevelopment projects such as the property at 24 W. Main Street. Gress said the Milan Development Corporation is involved with the 24 W. Main Street project and that a resolution to renew the relationship with Washtenaw County will be presented to council for consideration.
Mayor Ed Kolar asked councilmembers to prepare organized questions in advance of the next council meeting and the Washtenaw County Brownfield Development Authority’s appearance. No vote or formal action on the resolution occurred at the March 17 meeting; the item was presented as a discussion and planning step ahead of the future resolution.
