City Administrator Delisa Coggins told the Chesnee City Council on Aug. 11 that filing for the upcoming municipal election closes Aug. 15 at noon; the mayor's seat and two council seats are open for election. Coggins also informed the council that staff have begun uploading data for the 2025 annual audit.
On capital maintenance, Coggins said a new quote for bay doors came in $10,000 less than the previous estimate; the minutes do not include the full revised amount or vendor name. The police and planning/zoning reports were noted on the agenda but the minutes contain no additional detail from those reports.
What happens next: candidates must submit filing paperwork to the county election offices by the Aug. 15 noon deadline; staff will continue audit preparations and follow up on the bay-door procurement as needed.
