Council previews 2026 events, backs CADA Park tree lighting and praises new businesses

Councilwoman Vertie Crawford expressed a desire to hold future official tree lighting events in CADA Park; Councilman Kevin Lancaster agreed. Shellie Main said she has been in touch with local schools and that CADA Park would be a better option for hosting them. Councilwoman Monica Skipper also noted positive public feedback for the nighttime parade and the weeklong Christmas in Chesnee schedule and asked for clarification about outlets that power decorative snowflake lights.
Hospitality staff reported that budgeted projects are in their final phases and that accounts are being rebuilt; the 2026 event calendar will be presented in January 2026. Council members noted two new businesses in town and encouraged residents to show support.
No formal motions or votes were recorded on the tree lighting location during the meeting; the discussion was part of workshop conversation and planning.
