Chesnee council approves limited vacation payouts, appoints mayor pro tempore

Administrator Delisa Coggins told council that three or four employees were close to the maximum vacation accrual and had requested written payouts. Councilwoman Monica Skipper moved to approve payouts of up to 40 hours for those employees; Councilwoman Vertie Crawford seconded and the motion passed with "all in favor," according to the meeting record. Coggins said the expense is within the city budget.
Later in the meeting Mayor Lauren Dove asked council to nominate a Mayor Pro Tempore. Councilwoman Skipper nominated Councilwoman Vertie Crawford; Councilman Kevin Lancaster seconded the nomination and the council voted "all in favor." The meeting record does not provide a roll-call tally or any recorded dissent.
The council also approved its November 2025 minutes earlier in the session. The meeting was adjourned after routine departmental updates.
