City Administrator Delisa Coggins told the Chesnee City Council on Jan. 12 that the city will hold a special election on Feb. 10, 2026, and that the council will take part in an in-house training workshop on Feb. 17 at 10 a.m., expected to last about two hours.
Coggins said ordinances are in final review with a goal of having them ready for the February meeting. She also reported that financial statements and schedules are complete for the FY2025 audit and that audit materials are planned to be presented at the March 2026 meeting.
Why it matters: the special election sets a near-term deadline for candidates and voters; the audit timeline signals when the council and public can review finalized fiscal reports. The training workshop is intended for internal council preparation and does not change public meeting dates.
What’s next: city staff will circulate election notices and agenda materials per the timeline described by the administrator.
