Collegedale approves MOU tying police to Tennessee Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking task force

The Collegedale City Commission unanimously approved a resolution on Feb. 2 updating a memorandum of understanding between the Collegedale Police Department and the Tennessee Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force.
A police representative described the change as a cleanup to an existing agreement and said it formalizes participation by local officers. "This is just a little bit of a cleanup on an existing MOU that we had with the Safe Streets Task force and then in addition, Detective Watson will be joining this task force along with Lieutenant Herco," the police official said.
Commission discussion of the item was brief; the clerk recorded a motion to approve, a second and a roll-call vote in favor. Staff said the updated agreement expands access to task-force resources and investigative experience for child-exploitation and trafficking investigations.
The commission approved the resolution and the item will be reflected in the minutes; no additional conditions were discussed at the meeting.
