Mayor Lloyd presided over a brief Jan. 20 meeting in which the Collegedale City Commission approved several routine items and three notable measures.
The commission unanimously approved the Jan. 5 meeting minutes and a resolution authorizing bank signatures after a brief roll call. The body then approved Resolution 560, a memorandum of understanding with Bravo Zulu K9 LLC to formalize use of an outside canine trainer for the Collegedale Police Department. A police department representative told commissioners that the trainer “charges the city $100 per officer compared to comparable schools that are $800 per officer,” and that the agreement will include liability-release forms for trainings held on city property.
Commissioners also agreed to a temporary monthly car allowance for the city manager while he awaits a city vehicle. The motion approved a $500 monthly allowance, to be paid through payroll, “until such time that the city manager receives his vehicle,” a commissioner said. Staff advised that payroll treatment is preferable to mileage reimbursement for administrative simplicity.
After discussion of revenues and expenditures, the commission approved the November and December finance reports by roll call. Finance staff had noted year-to-date revenues near 34% of projection with expenditures at approximately 60%.
The meeting concluded after a short administration report and announcements.
