City Council approves package to repeal or rewrite archaic ordinances on pool halls, domino parlors and arcades

The items on the record included: Ordinance 2025-16 (repealing section 12-81); Ordinance 2025-17 (rebuilding section 12-82); Ordinance 2025-18 (repealing section 12-96); Ordinance 2025-22 (repealing section 12-100); and Ordinance 2025-23 (rebuilding section 12-101).
When one council member asked, "What happens if we get a domino parlor?", Misty responded, "I'll ... I'll deal with it. I promise. We'll rewrite them." The record shows the council approved the motions for each ordinance; one separate vote during the sequence recorded an abstention on a related motion but the listed ordinance items were approved as read. The council did not use the meeting transcript to attach fines, fees or a new licensing regime in this action; Misty explained the clean-up is preparatory work before adopting a comprehensive fee ordinance.
