Board member Laura Bratt, representing Area 3, called the meeting to order and announced the session was being video recorded and live‑streamed on the district's YouTube channel. During roll call the board recorded the presence of Rachel Hurd (Area 5), Jesse Vanze (Area 1), Susanna Ordway (Area 4) and Shelley Clark (Area 2).
The agenda items read into the record included 4.1: an appeal of a level‑3 complaint (PC 2503) submitted under BP/AR 1312.14; 4.2: consideration of a student records challenge under Government Code section 49070 (case 01/25‑26); and 4.3: a conference with legal counsel under Government Code section 54956.9 regarding pending litigation. The board also listed three claims for possible rejection (claim numbers 661438, 661926 and 655356) and an item for conference with legal negotiators under Government Code section 54957.6 naming Melanie Jones as the district's designated representative and employee organizations SRVEA, CSEA and CEIU (and unrepresented employees).
