Key approvals included:
- A districtwide agreement with vendor Fernando Sabala to produce promotional videos (up to two videos per school for the year). Staff said schools would own the videos and that Spanish subtitles or separate Spanish videos could be provided; the vendor confirmed photo/video releases would be required for students. The board approved the item by a 5–0 vote.
- Curriculum and platform subscriptions for school sites, including agreements with Lexia Learning Systems for an after‑school language lab at Willie Moreno Junior High, Summit K12 for additional language lab subscriptions, IXL Learning (Rosetta Stone and virtual professional learning), and Renaissance Learning for a digital library at Rockwood Elementary; each passed on voice votes.
- Participation in the Border Region Talent Collaborative for 07/01/2025–05/31/2026 and memoranda of understanding with Imperial Valley College District for use of Robert F. Morales facilities and with WestEd to administer the California survey system for the 2025–26 school year.
- A one‑year subscription pilot with Vittcruder Incorporated (hiring/recruiting software) intended to centralize applicant data, interface with Edjoin, and streamline classified and other hiring processes. HR leaders described the purchase as a one‑year test pilot with the option to seek multiyear approval if the system meets district needs. "The applications will still come through Edjoin," HR staff said, and added the platform allows review, screening, queries and reporting. The board approved the pilot by a 5–0 vote.
On several items, trustees asked about Spanish language accessibility of materials, ownership of produced videos, and whether vendors would provide release forms or captions; vendors and staff addressed those questions during the public discussion. Items 24–26 were pulled for consideration after closed session.
The board approved the list of items presented tonight, primarily by voice vote; recorded tallies were reflected as unanimous 5–0 outcomes on the consent and individual motions.
