Maplewood council adopts resolution honoring retiring Metropolitan Council member Sue Vento

The Maplewood City Council adopted a resolution of appreciation for Sue Vento, who recently retired from the Metropolitan Council, at its Jan. 12 meeting.
Mayor Abrams read the resolution outlining Vento’s career as an educator and long service to regional governance and community organizations. The council moved to approve the resolution and carried the motion by voice vote.
Sue Vento thanked the council, praised local first responders and reflected on her time on the Metropolitan Council. "If we do good, we'll create beauty," Vento said, urging continued regional collaboration. She asked council members to engage southern Maplewood residents early on planned neighborhood engagement, noting traffic and development concerns in that area.
The council presented the resolution and invited Vento to the dais for photos; no further action was required.
