Kissimmee planning advisory board hears staff introductions and notice of proposed zoning changes

At a Planning Advisory Board meeting, City of Kissimmee planning staff introduced the department team and outlined how annexations, future land-use designations and zoning relate to development review. Staff also described a multi-step “Onward Kissimmee” update to the comprehensive plan that will first revisit future land use and transportation.

The presentations and discussion were led by Glenda, planning manager for the City of Kissimmee, who summarized statutory and local code requirements for annexation and explained that land use (a comprehensive-plan designation) and zoning (site-level standards such as height and setbacks) are treated separately.
