Maplewood — The Maplewood City Council on Nov. 24 authorized the city manager to approve up to $160,000 in design, safety and coordination expenses for the Maplewood Community Center project for the period Dec. 1, 2025–May 31, 2026.
Mr. Darrell (project presenter) said the funds would support concept design, safety upgrades identified in a recent report, and community engagement and coordination costs. He described potential funding sources as capital-improvement funds that were part of the original lease and noted staff anticipates bringing further budget updates in early 2026.
Councilmember Lee moved the authorization; the motion was seconded by Council member Juniman and passed by unanimous roll-call vote. Council took no additional substantive amendments that night.
