The Kissimmee City Commission adopted Ordinance 31-30 in a unanimous 4–0 roll-call vote, approving amendments to the city’s comprehensive plan staff said are required after the 2025 evaluation and appraisal report.
Ashley Cornellson of the planning division told the commission the amendments update the city’s data inventory and analysis to reflect statutory changes and that staff transmitted the materials to state agencies after the prior hearing. “Staff is requesting approval of this item and I’m available if you have any questions,” Cornellson said.
No members of the public registered to speak during the public hearing. City staff said they had received comments from a state agency and had made the changes included in the packet before the meeting.
The ordinance updates the City of Kissimmee comprehensive development plan to reflect current Florida statutory requirements and directs the city manager to replace the land-use plan as provided after adoption. The measure takes effect on the date provided in the ordinance and was adopted with Commissioner Martinez absent.
Next steps: staff will finalize transmittals required by state review procedures and implement the updated plan language in city planning documents.
