Bridgeport council approves environmental grant and appoints member to Historic District Commission

The Bridgeport City Council on Tuesday approved a committee-recommended grant submission to the Community Environmental Benefit Fund and voted to appoint Calvin Burwell to the Historic District Commission.

The council moved and approved an economic and community development committee report to submit an application for a Community Environmental Benefit Fund (CEBF) grant (CEBF number 26398) on behalf of the Bridgeport Environmental Task Force. Council members approved the consent calendar without further discussion.

Later in the meeting the council considered the nomination of Calvin Burwell to the Historic District Commission. "Motion to approve is made," the presiding official said before the clerk called the roll; the nomination carried after the roll-call vote.

The clerk asked members to respond yes to approve and no to oppose; following the clerk's roll-call the presiding official said the appointment had passed.
