The committee reviewed line item 5.8, an LPD request to produce an informational flyer (requested by Council Member Mary Waters) explaining how property tax rates change when property transfers. Mr. Corley said assessors had produced a draft welcome letter and LPD had proposed minor language changes; staff asked for two weeks to finalize language and coordination with assessors.
A motion to bring back line items 5.8 and 5.9 in two weeks was moved and approved without objection.
Separately, committee members discussed line item 6.2, the Citizens Research Council of Michigan's report on evaluating a local‑option admissions tax for sports and entertainment venues. The chair said he wanted CRC and OCFO participation in a future meeting to allow a fuller presentation and discussion. A motion to bring back line item 6.2 in two weeks also passed without objection.
Next steps: staff will coordinate with assessors on the property‑tax flyer language and schedule CRC/OCFO participation for the resumed discussion.
