Detroit council approves multiple contracts and resolutions, including ARPA-funded AECOM amendment

At its Sept. 9 session, the Detroit City Council approved a large block of contract amendments, resolutions and appointments spanning the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, media services, housing and other city programs.
Notable approvals included three resolutions (line items 15.1–15.3) moved by Member Durhall and recorded as approved without objection; among them was an ARPA-funded amendment to the AECOM Great Lakes contract for grant compliance and strategic guidance with a total contract amount reported as $21,807,956. Council records show the Office of Contracting and Procurement also presented audit-service contracts for OCFO and the Auditor General.
Under Member Johnson, the council approved a set of media and AV production contracts (line items 16.1–16.6) that included a range of contractors and funding sources, an unmanned aerial systems airspace-management program contract ($397,803) and legal-representation grant funding ($1,551,320 to Neighborhood Defender Service). The council also approved labor agreement implementation and employee medical/dental/vision plan rates for 2026.
Housing and revitalization items (line items 17.1–17.4) moved by President Pro Tem James Tate included ARPA-funded extensions and amendments supporting facility rehabilitation, Renew Detroit home-repair grants and a 35-bed emergency shelter expansion (14750 Saint Mary's Street); these were approved as presented.
Most items were approved by voice vote with council members noting waivers where requested. Item 18.3, a special-event resolution for Roosevelt Park, was postponed one week to allow additional neighborhood outreach and clarification on parking and noise-management plans; remaining special-event resolutions were approved.
The meeting recorded no recorded roll-call tallies for these approvals; many items were approved after the chair announced "hearing no objections."
