City, $30,000, Department of Transportation); 8.6 (Sarah Chuboy v. City, Fire & EMS, $120,000); 8.7 (Patricia Heron v. Robert Williams Shelton & City, $15,000, Fire); and 8.8 (Virginia Lafour v. City, case 24‑011338‑CH, $30,000). The chair announced motions and in each case said, “Hearing no objections, that action shall be taken,” indicating the items will be forwarded to formal session with the committee’s recommendations.
Line item 7.4 (Dorothy McGeilrath & Diane Davis v. City, case 2004999‑NI, $255,000, Municipal Parking) lacked a municipal parking representative during initial discussion; after questions and a motion by Member Callaway, the committee later voted to send 7.4 to formal without recommendation.
Contract item 8.1 (contract 3086570, 100% city funding, Detroit Public Schools, $297,653.32, through 06/30/2026) was discussed, including a Member Callaway question whether Rutherford Winans Academy (16411 Curtis St.) will remain a polling site; Christian Madoka, chief of staff at the Department of Elections, said he would obtain the polling‑site list and follow up before the end of the session. The committee ultimately sent 8.1 to formal with a recommendation to approve.
Contract item 8.2 (contract 6005671 amendment #2, $2,190,000, 100% ARPA — Adams Butzel Complex, contractor Bridal Inc.) was identified as misreferrered and the committee voted to send it back through the council president to the Public Health & Safety Committee for further review.
