Committee advances three‑month extension for public safety HQ facility management contract

Anita Clark, Contract and Procurement staff, introduced the item and Roger Short of the Detroit Building Authority said Jones Lang LaSalle has managed the facility for nearly six years and staff requested a three‑month extension while a new contract is prepared. Short said the extension is intended to bridge the period while the new contract is completed and that there is no immediate dollar‑amount change tied to the extension.
With no member questions, a motion to send the item to formal recommendation to approve passed by unanimous consent.
What’s next: procurement staff will bring the new contract forward at the conclusion of the procurement process and the committee will consider the formal resolution in a subsequent meeting.
