The Internal Operations Committee conducted two interviews and moved both candidates to the formal calendar with recommendations to approve.
Jerry Flindale, nominated to represent District 2 on the Entertainment Commission, described work as a recording engineer and thanked Councilwoman Angela Wood Callaway for the nomination. Member Callaway and Member Waters praised Flindale’s community ties and music-industry experience; the committee moved his nomination to formal with a recommendation to approve.
Bob Roberts, joining virtually, described his service on the Board of Zoning Appeals, involvement with neighborhood groups in Corktown and Courtown, and said parking — particularly near the DCFC stadium development — is a priority for his next term. He said developers have proposed a parking structure of fewer than 400 spaces to serve a planned 15,000-seat stadium, and he urged additional solutions including a second structure or larger capacity; the committee moved his reappointment to formal and LPD will draft a resolution.
Both nominees will appear on the formal calendar for final council action; the committee indicated support from multiple members during the interviews.
