Engineers outline bulkhead replacements and multi‑million sewer grants for 2026 work

Bayview Drive reconstruction has entered the design phase and the engineer expects construction to be completed by summer 2026 if the schedule holds.
Mr. de Blasio said the borough’s Clean Water/Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project was awarded to Marandino Construction with approximately $2,000,000 in grant funds; work has begun on Stockton Road but progress has been intermittent, and the borough intends to send a "very strong letter" to the contractor to press for steady progress and to meet the contractual deadline next May. He also said a New Jersey Avenue sewer and water‑main improvement project had a pre‑construction meeting and is scheduled to start in mid‑November.
Separately, the engineer described a current iBank clean‑water grant initiative for sanitary‑sewer replacement and associated roadway improvements on Park Boulevard (from Cressy to Grama Road). The borough expects to finalize step 2 of the iBank process this week and reach step 4 within two to three weeks, which would position the borough to secure about $3,000,000 in grant funding with minimal local match.
Council members raised a minor traffic‑control concern about construction material left in the street at a storm repair site; the engineer said crews have generally been responsive but agreed to request better marking of materials left near travel lanes. No votes or formal policy changes were taken during the engineer’s report; the updates were informational.
