Key approvals included contract amendments for health programs: an increase for an HIV‑services contract (ending the HIV epidemic / Ryan White programs) and a related program administrator amendment to Henry Ford Health System. The council also approved an amendment to the municipal resident identification card software contract (Omicron Technology Solution LLC) and authorized a fleet‑maintenance amendment for motorcycle repair services (Arsenal Powersports) used for city motorcycles.
Council also introduced ordinance 19.1 to designate the Conductors Protective Assurance (CPA) Building Historic District and set its public hearing for Feb. 26. Multiple appointments and reappointments (Human Rights Commission) and other routine resolutions were approved or had waivers attached. Several items were postponed or referred for analysis to the Law Department and LPD for additional review, including petition‑related requests discussed during the meeting.
Why it matters: These votes change contracting authority, allocate funds to critical health services and keep the municipal ID and municipal fleet programs operational; some amendments were increased to cover services already rendered.
