Maywood trustees agree to special meeting with Park District to discuss park transfers after split votes

A subsequent motion to convene a Special Board Meeting with Park District commissioners passed (Ayes: Mayor Perkins, Trustees I. Brandon, M. Jones and K. Wellington; Nay: Trustee N. Booker).
Village Attorney Michael Jurusik summarized a memorandum accompanying the draft IGA (memo dated Jan. 13, 2021) noting that the IGA was non-final and that the Park District had sought financial support from the Village to bring parks up to code and address initial maintenance. Trustees asked for additional detail about necessary repairs and costs before any conveyance.
The board directed staff to work with Park District administrators to schedule the Special Board Meeting where the IGA and proposed financial arrangements will be discussed in more detail.
Next steps: staff and legal counsel will coordinate a date for the Special Board Meeting and prepare the draft IGA and cost estimates for trustee review.
