Council approves task order for lead and galvanized service-line replacement

The Thief River Falls City Council approved Task Order No. 22 with Advanced Engineering & Environmental Services LLC to provide engineering and construction-phase inspection and record-keeping for a grant-funded lead and galvanized water-service-line replacement project.
“This will be fully reimbursed through the grant that we received to do this project,” Wayne told the council, adding that staff is finishing one remaining contractor form and hopes the contractor will start this fall and the project will progress into next year with a targeted completion date of Nov. 26.
When asked how many customers are on the replacement list, Wayne said, “We have a list of about 75, between 75 and 80.” He noted the count could change once the contractor begins work and identifies additional addresses.
Councilman Scott Pream moved to approve the task order; a second was recorded and the motion passed.
City staff said the work is tied to a grant and that construction-phase services are necessary for grant compliance and project oversight.
