The Danbury City Board of Awards voted unanimously to award continuing engineering design services for the downtown streetscape renaissance project to Martinez Couch and Associates (MCA).
Purchasing agent Chip Volk told members that Al Bakri submitted a proposal dated Oct. 14, 2024, and that MCA proposed to perform the work under its current on-call contract with the city for a total proposed price of $38,700. A board member moved to award the proposal to MCA; the motion was seconded and the chair read procurement code language into the record before the vote.
Why it matters: The award funds continued engineering design for downtown improvements under the city’s on-call consultant arrangement and uses a relatively small professional-services budget allocation.
Next step: Procurement staff will complete contract paperwork for MCA to proceed with the specified design stages.
