The Pierce County Council unanimously approved two administrative resolutions on Tuesday that set committee memberships and confirm council appointments to external boards for 2026.
Proposal R2025-229, which establishes the council’s standing committees, meeting times and committee officers for 2026, was introduced by council staff. Jeff Cox, council staff, said the amendment before the council "fills in the blanks" by naming the members who will serve on each committee. Council amendment number 1 was moved and adopted; the amended resolution passed on a 7–0 roll-call vote.
Proposal R2025-228, which appoints council members and staff to positions on boards, commissions, and other organizations for 2026, was likewise introduced by staff. An amendment discussed at a prior study session updated several names on the exhibits; council amendment number 1 was moved, adopted and the full resolution passed 7–0 by roll call.
Both measures were described by staff as largely technical updates to committee rosters and external appointment lists. There were no public comments requesting changes to either resolution during the public comment window for those items.
