Ventnor appoints members to lifeguard pension commission; plan to be amended and submitted to state

The mayor read appointments to the lifeguard pension commission and said the city is taking steps to bring the plan back into compliance with state requirements.
"Matthew Spears is an existing lifeguard. Jackie Fox, a member of, will be a member of the citizens — a citizen member of the commission, and Sean Gleason also will be a member of the citizen commission," the mayor stated when listing the appointees. The mayor and staff said they are drafting an amended plan for the commission's approval and will submit the corrective action plan to the state comptroller's office.
Officials said once the commission is functioning they will adopt the amended plan by ordinance; staff expect to finish the draft for review in the near term and to submit required documents to the state as part of audit compliance.
