Delray Beach commission certifies March election, declares Judy Malika winner

The Delray Beach City Commission on March 10 accepted the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections’ cumulative totals for the March nonpartisan election and declared Judy Malika elected to Commissioner Seat 2 for a three-year term beginning in March 2026, the City Clerk said at a special meeting.
City Clerk: "Andrew M. Kizer received 2,324 votes, Judy Malika received 2,745 votes, and Dolores Ranker received 1,744 votes," the City Clerk read aloud while reporting the official totals ascertained by the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections.
The reading of the results was followed by a brief public-comment period; the Chair called for comment and none were offered. The Chair then asked for and received a motion to accept the Clerk’s totals. After a motion and a second on the record, the commission voted to accept the results; the Chair said the motion "passes unanimously." The commission also voted earlier in the meeting to allow Mayor Carney to attend virtually.
The Clerk stated that Judy Malika will serve a three-year term commencing in March 2026, in accordance with the city charter. With the results certified and no public comment, the Chair adjourned the special meeting.
The clerk’s reading of the numbers and the commission’s acceptance complete the formal certification of the March election for Commissioner Seat 2. There were no recorded objections or roll-call dissent on the action taken at the meeting.
