Holly Area Schools to add non‑voting student representative in January; superintendent outlines selection framework

In the same report, Executive Director Szczechowicz summarized curriculum-related activity: a parent outreach 'Raising Good Humans' event, positive feedback from a district professional development day focused on student achievement and curriculum review, and plans for district staff (Keech and Szczechowicz) to present on continuous improvement at the upcoming MICIP conference. Director Earl provided a financial update: several bids are underway (district network upgrades, auditorium fire alarm work and audio/visual upgrades at Holly High School), the state budget was approved Oct. 7, 2025, General Fund updates will be presented to the Finance Committee on Nov. 17, 2025, and the district is working with PFM on a final arbitrage settlement for the 2021 bond due Jan. 7, 2026. Earl also reported a modest fall enrollment increase of about 10 students and plans to relocate into the new administration offices over the holiday break.
During audience participation, Anna Matson introduced herself as publisher of the newly established Holly Post and requested inclusion in major event communications; Superintendent Roper said the district's communications contact had previously reached out and confirmed the district will continue to provide updates to the Holly Post.
The board did not take formal action on the student-representative framework at the Nov. 10 meeting; the framework was presented for review and will proceed through the board's standard process.
