The Manhattan Beach City Council on Nov. 24, 2025, approved its meeting agenda and recessed into a closed session, then returned to report no reportable action and adjourn to Dec. 2.
A motion to approve the agenda was made and was seconded by Mayor Patrick Franklin; the council approved the agenda unanimously, with the clerk stating, “Motion passes 5 0.” The council then closed the public comment period after the mayor said there were no speakers in chambers and the clerk noted, “No request on Zoom.”
The council recessed into closed session after the city attorney announced that the discussion would be held “pursuant to Government Code section 54957.” After the closed session, the city attorney said there was “no reportable action taken.” The council confirmed it would adjourn until the regular meeting at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 2, 2025.
The session was largely procedural: roll was called for five members and no public comments were received. Beyond the agenda approval, the only formal items recorded were the move to closed session under the cited Government Code provision and the subsequent announcement that no reportable action resulted from that closed-door discussion. The meeting was then adjourned.
