Financial staff presented February operational and financial results and reported that the port is tracking ahead of budget through five months of the fiscal year.
Jeff Rong said operating revenues for February were slightly above budget and that five‑month operating income was $42,300,000, about $8,400,000 above the operating income budget through February. He noted cruise activity as the primary driver of the favorable variance and highlighted that the port had moved roughly 4,000,000 cruise passengers year‑to‑date and 827,000 passengers in February. From an expense standpoint he reported favorable timing and ongoing cost containment that left expenses below budget for the period.
After presentation, a commissioner moved to approve the financial memo, statistical and aging reports, list of bills and disposals for February 2026; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. One commissioner publicly commended staff on having receivables fully in the current column for the month.
Next steps: the finance director will present second‑quarter results at the board’s next monthly meeting and hold one‑on‑one briefings with commissioners to review detailed statements.
