Board approves policy updates, new high‑school courses and surplus-asset resolutions in unanimous votes

Trustees approved curriculum additions for Calexico High School. The board approved a new three‑year introduction-to-welding course intended to strengthen the district’s CTE pipeline and increase certification and competition readiness (mover: Mr. Arellano; seconder: Mr. Ravinia). The board also approved a career development and work‑based learning course focused on adult life planning, community access, independent living and functional academics; that motion passed with a second by Mr. Abinha.
On fiscal housekeeping, trustees adopted a resolution setting the GANN (state spending) limit for fiscal year 2025–26 and approved two resolutions authorizing disposition of surplus custodial equipment at Dual Elementary School and Aurora High School. All motions recorded carried by unanimous voice or roll-call affirmation, 4–0. The board then announced it would convene closed session.
