The presentation included conceptual cost estimates: sanitary sewer about $304,000; water distribution about $716,000; trail about $403,000; and a stated total project cost of $2,400,000. Staff emphasized these are conceptual figures used to attach order-of-magnitude costs and may change with design and engagement.
Community development staff (S4) noted the Middle Beach master plan—identified in the transcript as part of the '25 budget but delayed for financial reasons—had been intended to align with a YMCA master plan, and staff described efforts to coordinate study timeframes. Another participant (S5) called the coordination "positive" and said aligning studies would be most effective.
S5 also said one safety benefit of the realignment would be to reduce sharp curves near the camp, producing a safer trail adjacency to the roadway.
Next steps: designs and cost estimates will be refined as staff and potential partners coordinate study timelines; no formal vote or commitment to fund the project was recorded at the meeting.
