Maywood board renews Cook County Class 8 property tax designation for Aetna Plywood

The Village of Maywood voted Nov. 17 to approve a renewal of a Cook County Class 8 property tax rate designation for the real property commonly known as 1401 St. Charles Road, the site of Aetna Plywood, Inc.
Trustee I. Brandon moved to approve the Class 8 incentive renewal and Trustee N. Booker seconded. The recorded vote showed four trustees in favor and two opposed; Trustee A. Sanchez had lost connection and was absent. With the board—s approval the renewal will proceed through Cook County processes consistent with Class 8 designation rules.
The renewal was presented with a cover memo dated Nov. 10, 2020 from Klein, Thorpe & Jenkins. The board did not provide additional discussion beyond the recorded roll call.
