Bayonne board to consider paid demographic study from outside forecasting firm

The Bayonne School District board heard a proposal to hire a statistical-forecasting firm to conduct a district demographic study.
At the workshop Chair described Resolution C10 as an approval for “statistical forecasting to do a demographic study,” saying the firm is experienced in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut work and comes strongly recommended. The chair said the consultant would present the full report to the board and that lead time is “anywhere from 2 to 3 months.”
Trustee Bishay added that after the study is complete “they'll go over detail as far as details we we want to go,” noting the board can decide how deeply to review the consultant’s full presentation. The board discussed that the work would provide multi-year projections, which the chair said would cover patterns such as two-year projections and longer-term trends.
No formal vote on hiring the firm is recorded in the workshop transcript; the item was described as discussed in committee and scheduled for future consideration. If adopted, the study would be used to inform enrollment planning and district resource decisions.
