The council recorded affirmative roll-call responses on the motion and then administered the oath: "I, Jamie Dunn, do solemnly swear that I will support, obey, and defend the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the State of Oklahoma, the Owasso City Council code of ethics and conduct, the City of Owasso Charter, and the City of Owasso code of ordinances," Dunn said.
Mayor Alvin Preger and council members joined in welcoming Dunn. The appointment fills a seat that will be on the ballot in the 2026 election cycle per city rules; staff noted the upcoming filing and election schedule elsewhere on the agenda. Dunn's oath places her immediately on the council roster; the council did not indicate additional committee assignments at the meeting.
The council moved on to other business following the swearing-in.
