Board reviews adult-education, governance and school-supervision policy revisions

Several members favored the 'principles' document and requested wording changes to four bullet points (for example, replacing neutral verbs with 'adopt' to clarify board responsibility). The board asked staff to refine that draft for a vote at the next meeting.
On policy 712 and related administrative guidelines, members supported renaming 'school security' to 'school supervision' or 'school event staff' to better reflect duties. Staff noted parallel security-related policy updates (policies 80501 and 80502) are being developed in coordination with Officer Bivens and changes to comply with new legal requirements.
Next steps: staff will revise the chosen governance-principles draft to adopt the requested wording changes and return the adult-education and school-supervision policy drafts for formal consideration at the next regular meeting.
