Airport seeks to secure 5% FAA grant match for entrance-road and pavement preservation projects

Board members asked for precise split details; S7 (a presenter/staff member) said he was working to produce exact numbers for the 5% match. S7 warned that certain adjustments — including changes tied to “economic distress community” status — could materially change the county’s share. “If there is the loss of economic distress community, that number... basically doubles,” S7 said.
Staff also updated the board that a waterline tied to a ramp expansion project required an upgrade from Schedule 40 to Schedule 80 and that the airport paid the change‑order cost from its budget; the water test passed and is now safe to use. “The water is good to go again,” S4 said.
The board directed staff to ask DOT about participating up to the fence and to seek out needed contacts; staff said they would report back at the commission meeting. No formal appropriation or vote was taken at this meeting.
