Fire‑department partners and the Arizona Burn Foundation asked for support to expand smoke‑alarm installations for vulnerable elderly residents; Bridget (Arizona Burn Foundation) explained demand has grown and noted specialized alarms for deaf or hard‑of‑hearing residents cost about $700 each. Fire Marshal Jennifer Peel Davis and Bridget provided recent installation counts for earlier walks and described volunteers and device sourcing through the foundation.
Sophie Dassart of Florence Copper told council the company would match the town’s $5,000 contribution. Council member motions to approve the donation to the Arizona Burn Foundation passed on voice vote.
